Zahir & Batin: Rhythms of Being, a sculptural and mixed-media installation, explores the profound concept of zahir (exoteric) and batin (esoteric) found in the Sufi tradition of Islam. The installation uses the eye-blink as a metonym to explore the dynamic movement between states of zahir and batin. The process book encapsulates the two year long creative process that led to the final exhibition and is an integral part of the work itself.
